The Florida Training Service Apprentices in this program are registered apprentices with the Florida Department of Workforce Education – Apprenticeship Section. They will also be a registered students of Florida Training Services public education partner Atlantic Technical College.

The instructional curriculum has been tailored to provide the individual with not only a broader education in their craft, but the ability to advance on the job in their trade. Apprentices who successfully complete the program will receive certifications from:
- State of Florida – Apprenticeship Completion
- Certificate from Atlantic Technical College
- OSHA -Hour Safety Certification

Apprentice Requirements:
*Apprentices are required to log a minimum of 2000 hours-per-year of
on-the-job (OJT) training. All progress is documented with the sponsoring employer. Apprentices are also required to attend a minimum of 144 hours-per-year of related classroom training. The entire program is 4 years. This training is provided in-person at the following location:

General Requirements:
Minimum 18 years of age and physically able to perform the work of
the trade. Must have a valid Driver’s License and transportation. Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in order to comprehend instructions on the job and in related training classes, and to ensure personal and co-worker safety on the job.
