Florida Training Services is seeking experienced Electrical Trades Instructors to support our Pre-Apprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeship programs in the Palm Beach and Fort Pierce areas.

This part-time evening position is a great opportunity for experienced electrical professionals who would like to share their knowledge, help develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople, and support Florida’s growing workforce.

Depending on the assigned class, instructors may work with entry-level Pre-Apprenticeship students learning foundational electrical skills or Registered Apprenticeship students advancing through structured electrical training while employed in the trade.

Pre-Apprenticeship vs. Registered Apprenticeship

Pre-Apprenticeship introduces students to electrical safety, basic electrical concepts, workforce expectations, tools, and foundational trade skills. Students are not required to already be employed in the electrical trade.

Registered Apprenticeship combines related classroom instruction with paid, employer-sponsored on-the-job training. Apprentices are employed in the electrical trade while completing their classroom and work-based training requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of electrical trade experience
• Strong working knowledge of the electrical industry
• Ability to clearly communicate technical information to students
• Ability to pass a Level 2 background check when required by the school district
• Previous teaching or instructor experience is preferred, but not required
• Journeyman-level experience is strongly preferred for Registered Apprenticeship instruction

Schedule

• Part-time evening position
• Classes are generally 3 hours per evening
• Typical class time: 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Specific teaching nights may vary by program and location
